Introduction
Rennies Transport and Material Handling is an equal opportunity employer with offices based in Walvis Bay. The Company has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Transport Coordinator to join its ranks as soon as possible. The main objectives of this role are to plan, coordinate, and manage the movement of trucks; to act as a link between the supervisor and the drivers; and to assist with workforce planning.
Job description

  • Operational Planning.
  • Task and equipment delegation.
  • Site visits and inspections - to ensure containers are delivered to the correct sites prior to delivery and adequate space available.
  • Daily vehicle checklists and reporting on any faults.
  • Responsible for checking that all necessary documentation required for the movement of cargo meets all requirements.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly serviced and maintained at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and company policies in terms of Health and Safety, Legislative and Environmental issues.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with customers, shipping agents and subcontractors.

Minimum requirements

  • Namibian Citizen
  • Matric certificate or equivalent
  • Computer Literate: Microsoft Office
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 3 – 5 years relevant experience in transport/ logistics industry.
  • Tertiary Qualification in Logistics/ transport management or related field would be an added advantage.
