Job description

  • Pre-arrival vessel planning and booking of berthing space for vessels.
  • Obtain detailed vessel & operational requirements from stakeholders prior to vessel arrival.
  • Coordinating vessel port calls while attending to vessel inquiries.
  • Preparing and presenting professional vessel D/A quotations and liaison with principals
  • Registration of all vessels with local authorities prior to its arrival (within statutory time frames)
  • Vessel clearance
  • Coordinating efficient cargo operations
  • Cutting and releasing principal Bills of Lading
  • Conducting efficient authority liaison and maintaining regular communication with all stakeholders involved
  • Crew change coordination and facilitation.

Minimum requirements

  • Namibian citizen
  • Matric Certificate or equivalent
  • Computer Literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Systems Exposure: Acumatica and Bluvelve
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Certificate in Logistics or Basic Shipping
  • Shipping practice course or Bill of Lading
  • 2-3 years minimum Ships Agency experience, with sound knowledge and understanding of Port Agency work.
  • Knowledgeable in the Namibian Ports Authority (NAMPORT), DMA, Immigration and Customs regulations.
  • Own transport will be advantageous.
