Introduction
Orca Marine Services is an equal opportunity employer with offices based in Walvis Bay. The Group is looking for a suitably experienced Skipper (U25 ton or Class 6 ticket) to join its ranks as soon as possible. Skipper is also responsible to ensure safe navigating of the launch boat's, its passengers, Crew and Cargo and to ensure top service delivery
Job description

·        Safety and Compliance: follow safety protocols, including safety briefings for crew and passengers, safety signage maintenance, and inspection of equipment and safety measures.

·        Equipment and Maintenance Compliance: complete vessel and equipment inspections, engine checks, and pre-trip preparation, including flushing engines and vessel cleaning.

·        Timeliness and Accuracy of Reporting: Frequency and accuracy of daily progress reports, delivery notes, and real-time job updates to clients.

·        Incident Reporting and Resolution Time: report and address any safety or equipment issues identified, including damage and missing equipment.

Minimum requirements

·        Grade 12            

·        5 years working experience as askipper

·        Worked as a Launch Skipper will be an added advantage

·        U25 Ton Skipper’s Ticket, however Class 6 Skipper’s ticket will be advantageous.

·        Strong communication skills

·        Safety, Firefighting & Survival Certificates

·        Radio communication certificate (CRAN)              

·        Good knowledge & understanding of OHSE systems and the requirements

·        Good Knowledge & Understanding of Electronic Navigational Systems

·        Motor-man skills & understanding

·        Namibian
