Introduction
Rennies Transport & Material Handling is an equal opportunity employer with offices based in Walvis Bay, providing dedicated transport, materials handling services and equipment hire. Provides long and short haul transport services from port to warehouse to doorstep for all cargo types including containers, reefers, abnormal, bulk and break-bulk. Well-equipped to handle any load to any destination. Materials handling equipment includes a fleet of modern trucks, side loaders, interlinks, triaxles, forklifts, and reach stackers.
Job description

This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day transport operations, ensuring the efficient delivery of goods while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. The Transport Operations Manager will focus on optimizing resource allocation, driving operational excellence, and enhancing client satisfaction. Effective communication with all stakeholders will be a key priority to ensure timely and clear updates across all operations.
 
Key Performance Areas:
 
1. Team Coordination
Maximize productivity across all shifts, striving to exceed performance targets daily.
Lead operational meetings and coordinate with administrative functions for accurate revenue tracking.
Motivate, train, and develop the Operations Team to meet both technical and non-technical needs.
 
2. Operation Coordination
Ensure operations adhere to safety standards, national legislation, and company policies.
Oversee and efficiently allocate resources (manpower and equipment) to sites and clients.
Monitor and assess ongoing operations to ensure performance standards are met and exceeded, and to initiate appropriate action when needed.
 
3. Client Liaison
Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure sustainable service delivery.
Proactively monitor client satisfaction and ensure alignment with service standards.
Continuously follow-up on customer requirements and experience and critically comparing current service standards.
 
4. Budget and Reporting
Develop and track cost control measures to ensure adherence to budget limits and approval guidelines. Safeguard sensitive client and operational information.
Systematically manage all reports needed by the internal and external clients by coordinating or generating such reports promptly. 
Effectively coordinating with all stakeholders involved in maintaining and further enhancement of the fleet management system.

Minimum requirements

Minimum Requirements:
 
·       Namibian Citizen
·       Matric or equivalent
·       Computer literate (Microsoft office)
·       Valid driver’s license
·       Bachelor’s degree in transport, logistics, business management or relevant qualifications
·       Minimum of 8 years’ experience within a similar role
·       Proven experience of at least 3 years in managing transport operations and leading teams
·       Knowledge of transport legislation and industry legislation
